Robin Melton, CHMM, REM
President and Owner
After starting EWI in 1992, Robin has successfully grown the firm to over 50 associates and three locations - Springfield, Missouri headquarters with regional offices in St. Louis and Kansas City, Missouri. Robin has over 20 years of professional experience managing environmental projects in Missouri and across the United States. Her educational background includes a B.S. in Geoscience from Missouri State University, Graduate Study in Physical Geography at the University of Georgia, and an MBA from Webster University. Robin also holds multiple professional certifications including: Licensed AHERA Asbestos Inspector, Registered Environmental Manager (REM), and Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) Master Level.
Robin strongly supports environmental preservation practices that will lead to a sustainable future. She also strongly believes in the importance of giving back to the community. Over the years, Robin has shared her time and talent by serving as a board member for several non-profit boards including: Springfield Chamber of Commerce, Jordan Valley Innovation Center, Inc., Southwest Missouri Humane Society, Urban Neighborhoods Alliance, Watershed Committee of the Ozarks, and the Missouri Petroleum Storage Tank Insurance Fund. In addition, Robin is the co-chair of Springfield's Strategic Planning Committee, which is currently working on the City's 20-year strategic plan. EWI is also a corporate sponsor of the James River Basin Partnership.

Andrea Pence
Controller
Andrea has 16 years of experience in management, business leadership, and in directing administrative and accounting operations and assuring quality results. At EWI, Andrea manages the administrative group which includes administration, accounting, and human resources.
Andrea is skilled in a variety of areas including accounting and financial operations, budgeting and forecasting, operations and financial analysis, financial statement generation, margin improvement, and contract review and negotiation.
Her educational background includes a B.S. in Business Administration from Drury University and an MBA from Webster University. Andrea's specific experience includes establishment of accounting principles, practices, and procedures and preparation of financial reports and presentation of findings and recommendations. She has negotiated insurance contracts with various insurance carriers annually for general liability insurance, key person insurance, and health insurance. In addition, Andrea has handled accounting and administrative aspects of the due diligence process during a business acquisition.

Suzan Gonder, CHMM
Managing Principal
Suzan has more than 28 years of experience as a geologist, with 21 years of experience in the environmental consulting field. As Managing Principal for EWI, she is responsible for the management of corporate business development including new client relationships and business markets. She also manages existing client relationships and provides senior oversight for compliance projects being performed by EWI.
Suzan has managed or provided technical assistance on environmental projects including investigation and remediation projects, multi-site environmental site assessments, emergency response and spill cleanups, and Brownfields redevelopment. She has developed and implemented environmental management systems for transportation, manufacturing, and other entities both in the private and public sector. These systems include development of training programs, set-up of reporting and recordkeeping databases, permitting, and auditing under RCRA, the Clean Water Act, the Clean Air Act, DOT, and OSHA.
Her educational background includes a B.S. in Geology from the University of Missouri - Columbia and Graduate Studies at Oklahoma State University. In addition, Suzan is a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) Master Level, Co-Chair of the Environmental Committee for the American Railway Development Association (ARDA), and a member of the Environmental Committee for the American Railroad Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA). Suzan is also active in the community, and is currently the President of the Board of Directors for Sigma House and the Larry Simmering Recovery Center, which are non-profit drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers in Springfield and Branson, Missouri.

Paul Dial, CHMM
Managing Principal
With over 13 years of professional experience in the environmental field, Paul is also responsible for the management of corporate business development including new client relationships and business markets for EWI. He also helps manage existing client relationships.
His educational background includes a B.S. in Chemistry and an M.S. in Chemistry from Missouri State University. In addition, Paul is a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) Master Level.
Paul's experience includes the coordination of storm water and wastewater compliance and management programs for multiple rail carrier and other clients at sites located across the United States. In addition, he has managed SPCC Plan and FRP generation and implementation for several of EWI's transportation and manufacturing clients. Paul has also assisted with emergency spill response for a number of clients, including multiple rail carriers, petroleum distributors, and interstate trucking companies.

Kevin Cassil
Kansas City Regional Manager
Kevin is a seasoned environmental management professional with experience in hazardous waste, air, water, soil, solid waste, and management systems. His previous experience includes serving as the environmental manager for the redevelopment of the Westside Business Park in Kansas City - a project that earned a Phoenix Award.
In addition, he was consultant to the City of Springfield, Missouri on their redevelopment of the Jordan Valley Park, which also received a Phoenix Award. Earlier in his career, he was a technical negotiator and manager for the Times Beach Superfund Site. He was also the lead negotiator and project manager for the Arkwood Superfund Site.
His clients have included large and small companies, state governments, local municipalities, and individuals in the United States and Mexico. Kevin has worked with federal, state, and local regulators with good results for his clients on a wide range of issues.

Jason Smith, R.G.
Group Manager - Investigation and Remediation
Jason is a geologist with over 10 years of professional experience in the environmental services field. His educational background includes a B.S. in Geology from Missouri State University and Graduate Studies in Geology from the University of Missouri. In addition, Jason is a Registered Geologist in the state of Missouri.
Jason's responsibilities include the management of a team of technical staff members and oversight of site characterization, risk assessment, and remediation of over 100 cleanup sites in the Midwest. Projects range from small tank cleanup sites to complex superfund sites impacted with chlorinated solvents.
Jason also has experience with storm water / wastewater regulatory compliance, emergency response management, hazardous / non-hazardous waste management, and Clean Air Act compliance. In addition, he is an expert with Trust Fund reimbursement in multiple states.

Jennifer Moore
Group Manager - Assessment and Compliance
Jennifer has over 10 years of experience in environmental services, with an additional 3 years spent conducting research. She has overseen due diligence work in multiple states and has managed several complex LUST sites and portfolios in the Midwest and along the West Coast.
Her educational background includes a B.S. in Earth Sciences from Emporia State University and an M.S. in Forestry from Michigan Technological University. Jennifer has also completed graduate studies in environmental chemistry, instrumental analysis, watershed analysis, hydrogeology, volcanology, mineralogy, petrology, environmental geology, stratigraphy, remote sensing, and GIS.
Jennifer is responsible for overseeing air and waste compliance issues, completion of Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs), Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans, and waste disposal projects. Jennifer also manages the Virtual Task Manager (VTM) compliance tracking software for several convenience store and retail clients. In addition, she has performed site characterization, assessment and remediation activities at service stations, railyards, lumber mills, salvage yards and a multitude of other facilities in Illinois, Missouri, California, and Washington.
