In July 2010, the EWI Kansas City Field Services Group moved into its new warehouse and equipment yard. The new space, located just north of downtown Kansas City and adjacent to a large rail yard, will allow the firm to consolidate all vehicles and field equipment into a single, centralized, EWI-controlled space.
In addition, EWI’s Kansas City office staff completed renovations and relocation to their new, larger building in September 2010. The office is located in the historic, 100-year old Water Building in the River Market area of Kansas City. The River Market area is not only one of the city’s most historic neighborhoods, but also one of the most culturally rich areas. Brick streets, historic buildings, and decorative street lamps provide the ambiance of an old city in this thriving neighborhood. Located just a few blocks north of downtown Kansas City and the new Power & Light District, the River Market area is also home to the region’s largest farmers' market, the historic City Market.
“Our new office reflects who we are in several ways. The River Market district is an area that has seen dramatic revitalization in recent years. It is a great example of Brownfields redevelopment - and we’re right in the heart of it. The new Kansas City office is something we can all be very proud of. We are excited to watch the opportunities it will bring us in both functionality and connections with our clients. We are sure it will prove to be a vital element in our growth and continued prosperity,” said Kevin Cassil, EWI’s Kansas City Regional Manager.
