Project Description
EWI currently provides various storm water compliance services related to protection of storm water runoff from various industrial sources.
EWI offers an expert team of geologists, chemists, and environmental scientists with impressive water sampling, data interpretation, and quality assurance credentials. This expertise and experience allows for effective development and implementation of sampling programs in support of both small and large-scale water quality studies. Relevant project experience is further summarized below:

Railroad Services– Historically, EWI has managed storm water compliance services for several major rail carriers throughout eight Midwestern and Southern states. These services include storm water permitting, SWPPP development, Best Management Practice installation, Inflow and Infiltration evaluation, conveyance system design, storm water sampling, discharge monitoring report preparation, and agency negotiations. EWI has been instrumental with these clients maintaining compliance with various site-specific (individual) permits and general permits. EWI has been recognized by these clients as providing expert consulting and field services.

C-Store & Truckstop Clients – EWI has provided storm water compliance services for multiple petroleum marketer clients. These services include storm water sampling conducted in compliance with the facility’s NPDES permits, quarterly/monthly DMR preparation, permit renewal submittals, regulatory negotiations regarding the facility’s permit limits and storm water treatment improvements.
- Manufacturing Facilities – EWI’s manufacturing clients range from small, one-site operations, to large, multiple site facilities operating in several states. EWI has assisted these clients in all phases of storm water compliance, from completing the documentation required for new facilities, including land disturbance permits, to assisting with routine permit requirements, such as inspections, storm water sampling and reporting, and permit renewals. Training programs have also been developed and conducted for these facilities, and include both classroom and on-the job training on local, state and federal storm water regulations and site-specific information.
