Environmental, Health, and Safety Training

EWI provides high quality environmental, health and safety training programs for our existing clients, and we can do the same for your organization.

Our training programs include the following:

  • HAZWOPER (8-Hour refresher, 24-Hour, and 40-Hour) - EWI has the facilities, materials, and trainers available to teach these courses in compliance with 29 CFR 1910.120. Hands-on portions of this course involve: the use of NIOSH and Emergency Response Guidebooks; the donning and doffing of PPE, including fully encapsulating suits; mock confined-space entry; and instruction in the use of decontamination stations. We offer a regular schedule of courses, but we also have the flexibility to schedule a course specifically for your company given an adequately sized class.

  • Safe Quality Food - There have been many incidents in recent years related to animal and human illness caused by contaminated food products being sold to consumers. This training is geared toward educating employees in the agriculture, transportation, grocery, and restaurant industries to handle food products in such a way as to safeguard the consumer. This course will teach employees about: safe crop management, worker hygiene, food handling, refrigeration, and storage of these food products. This training also provides each student with an understanding of the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) concept of quality management.

  • Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) - Learn about the RCRA regulations and how they affect your company. This course will explain: waste characterization and classification, waste accumulation and shipment, waste stream management, federal and state reporting requirements, and document management.

  • Clean Water Act - This course will help students understand the requirements of the Clean Water Act, such as permitting, monitoring, and reporting for storm water and wastewater generated by their facility.

  • Clean Air Act - This course will help students understand the requirements of the Clean Air Act and how they apply to their company.  This introduction will help the trainees understand the processes involved in permitting, monitoring, and reporting the air emissions of their facility.

  • Lead Awareness Training - EWI’s goal with this training is to inform employees of the proper handling procedures for lead-containing material, as required by 29 CFR 1910.1025. This course will educate your employees regarding lead exposure levels, appropriate PPE, medical surveillance, and air monitoring techniques used when working in an environment containing this material.

EWI assigns only the most experienced personnel to these programs in order to satisfy client and regulatory standards.  Our instructors have years of experience and training allowing them to transfer knowledge in an accessible, easy-to-understand manner.  EWI has the capacity to empower our trainees with the knowledge and tools needed to make informed environmental decisions.
