Railyard Structure - Springfield, Missouri
Project Description
Environmental Works, Inc. (EWI) was awarded a contract by a major rail carrier for the demolition of a 400,000 square foot building located in a major railyard in Springfield, Missouri. The project is notable both for its size and complexity, and also for the fact that EWI plans to salvage and recycle 90 to 95 percent of the demolished material.
The scope of work for this project includes:
- Permitting
- Management and removal of asbestos containing materials, lead-based paint, and other contaminated building components
- Utility disconnects and capping/plugging of main sanitary sewer lines and water lines from the project location
- Building demolition
- Disposal, salvage, and/or recycling of demolition debris
- Removal of below-grade foundations and walls
- Backfill of site
The client has been very pleased with EWI’s performance of this project.
