Field Services & Emergency Response

Unlike most consulting firms, EWI offers both expert environmental consulting services and hands-on field service crews. Field services are provided as both stand-alone contractor services, such as stream bank stabilization, and as part of a larger environmental project, such as removal of pit water during a UST removal project. EWI also provides the “on-ground” resources necessary to respond to spills, derailments, and other potential environmental emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

EWI owns and operates various environmental investigation and construction equipment. This capability allows us to reduce subcontractor and mobilization costs while expediting project work in the field. Most consulting firms rent or subcontract equipment and equipment operators, which limits access to certain technical procedures and on-ground familiarity with specific project objectives. Specifically, EWI offers the following internal equipment capabilities:

  • Direct-push drilling rig (Geoprobe®)
  • Vacuum truck (Guzzler)
  • Heavy excavation equipment – trackhoes, loaders, backhoes, bobcats, and skid-steers
  • Dump trucks, storage and response trailers, and 4 x 4 transportation
  • Spill containment equipment
  • General support equipment – generators, pumps, and compressors
  • Air quality and safety meters
  • Field data collection and digital documentation equipment
  • Heavy equipment operators and Commercial Driver Licensed (CDL) technicians
