State of Missouri Hazardous Substance Cleanup & Disposal Contract

In 2007, EWI was awarded the Hazardous Substance Cleanup & Disposal Services Contract by the State of Missouri. Under the contract, EWI provides emergency response services for the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) and non-emergency services for various state agencies. The contract covers the cleanup and disposal of hazardous substances which are a danger to the environment or threat to human health in the State of Missouri.

One of the projects that EWI has performed under this contract is summarized below:

  • Former Maddux Oil Facility, Buffalo, MO – EWI performed emergency response activities as a result of a diesel fuel release from an AST located at this site. Abatement activities included the removal of remaining product in the AST, installation of recovery trenches/recovery wells, and excavation of stained surface soil. Free product recovery activities resulted in the removal of approximately 130 gallons of free product and 3,140 gallons of groundwater from the recovery and monitoring wells.
